Trends in Organizational Consulting

SINGLE SESSION, 9-11:00 AM PT, June 5, 2018     9:00 am - 11:00 am Pacific Time

Join Gisela Wendling & David Sibbet in an exploration of current trends that shape the fields of organization development and change consulting. One of the shifts we have been observing in organization development is a move from a diagnostic approach to including more dialogic approaches. Another trend is that increasingly clients ask for approaches that support high levels of collaboration in the consulting engagement as well as building that capability in their organizations—both in-person and virtually. What trends are you observing?

Gisela Wendling & David Sibbet will co-lead this Exchange, with David creating a visual overview of our exploration.

Intention

Organizations are evolving dynamically in response to new technologies, younger workers, new methodologies like Agile planning, shifting trade policies, and economic dynamics to mention only a few drivers of change. This Exchange will develop a shared sense of these forces and perceptions about how organizations are responding. In particular, we are interested in the role of process consulting and how participants are finding and supporting clients. Are there some big, emerging patterns in the field of organization consulting we can identify? Our hope is to address this cross-culturally and involve some of our international colleagues.

Key Questions for Exploration

  • What insights are we gaining?
