Feeling Safe & Brave—The Neuropsychology of Collaborating

THREE SESSIONS, 9-11:00 am PT, STARTS Apr 10 - May 08, 2018     9:00 am - 11:00 am PT

Mindfulness, neuroplasticity, emotional contagion: these words are now in the mainstream. But, do we know what they really mean and how they can help us create collaborative spaces in which people feel both safe AND brave? Mary Gelinas will help us to explore insights from brain science and how these relate to collaboration and change.

Sessions are co-facilitated and graphically supported by David Sibbet.

A limited number of GLEN Members can attend at no fee with a Coupon Code. Please email glen@thegrove.com to receive the code.

OPEN TO THE PUBLIC/FEE; MEMBERS/NO FEE WITH COUPON

Intention

Let’s take a collective leap in our ability to design and facilitate collaborative change processes in complex situations, by integrating what we know about the human brain and the impact of contemplative practices on it. For over ten years Mary Gelinas has been studying the results of brain research and social psychology and their relationship to Organization Development and collaborative change processes. In this Exchange we will explore the potential of this research and expand the possibilities of how it can strengthen and deepen our work as consultants and facilitators.

Key Questions for Exploration

  1. How can we use what we know about the human brain to even more effectively experience, design and facilitate collaborative change processes?
  2. As facilitators and consultants, how can we help those around us stay present and in a relationship with one another, especially in the midst of conflict and the unknown?
  3. How can we help people feel simultaneously safe enough and brave enough to speak what needs to be spoken and to work hard to understand the points of view of others?
  4. How can we access deeper wisdom and compassion in ourselves and others for the greater good?
